There is no place more beautiful than here...

With more than 50 hectares of land and forest, it's a given that agriculture and forestry play an important role on our estate.

Three employees work solely in this area. On a laboratory scale, we depict an agriculture that at the same time follows the standards of the farms that supply us. It is important to us that we use animals that are kept in a natural environment in a species-appropriate manner. We try to avoid animal transports lasting longer than 30 min. because the animal well-being is the measure of our economical actions.

"Agriculture is not only the care of our homeland, but also the maintenance and cultivation of the soil we live on."

And we are proud of our animal husbandry: We breed the endangered goat breed "Ober Tauernschecken". These are not part of our food chain, but are our natural assistants for the agricultural maintenance on slopes and difficult terrain. Our free-range Duroc pigs are a very special breed with a high meat yield. Our chickens supply us with country eggs. Our yaks are primarily used for natural grazing, as well as a sign of a special breed. Our deer are not only beautiful to look at, but also supply a part of our deer specialties.

Since 2016 the Steinbach estate and its agriculture and forestry have been certified organic. We decline the use of genetic engineering, factory farming, chemical-synthetic fertilizers and pesticides.

The entire resort is optimized by an organic certified agriculture and a lot of animals: deer, yaks, goats, chickens, pigs, which make life on the estate a real home refuge.

Since 2010, this magical place has developed into a real estate, a new German resort. "We must have done quite a few things right, because the large "Restaurant and Hotel Guide" has named us the "RESORT of the year" 2018." This is a great distinction not only for me, but also for my employees, which gives us great pleasure and further encourages us in our actions.
