Family holidays in Chiemgau in exclusive chalets and family suites
In the midst of the Chiemgau mountains, right on the border with Tyrol and in the immediate vicinity of the most beautiful hiking and winter sports areas in Bavaria, lies the Hotel & Chalets Gut Steinbach. The sprawling grounds of the home-based retreat offer nearly 51,000 square meters of everything that families are looking for in the mountains.
Family chalets and suites
In addition to the main building and the Steinbacher Hof with generous suites for the whole family, there are seven holiday cottages for up to six people in the Chalet-Dorf, which opened in 2017. The Chiemgau-style chalets line a natural pond and in their hamlet structure form an old Bavarian village full of life, as if it had always been there. Especially when in summer large and small splash in the pond and in the winter Gut Steinbach´s most beautiful snowman is built.
Space for the whole family
But the peace is in the foreground: The individual chalets are individually furnished and offer every comfort - from the small kitchen with living and dining area, terrace with garden and up to six bedrooms with space for the whole family. Velvet grandma and grandpa! Another highlight of the chalets is the private spa area with sauna, infrared, waterfall shower and relaxation area.
Our tip: first sauna and then cooling in the pondEnjoy: Culinary delights at Gut Steinbach
Although families can cook their favorite dish from home for young and old in the chalets in the kitchenettes, the direct connection to the Hotel Gut Steinbach also has its advantages: Achim Hack's fine, regional cuisine in the cozy lounges and in the restaurant HEIMAT is one of the many reasons that distinguish Gut Steinbach from other hotels and chalet villages. Excellent cuisine that the children should also like.
And the best: if you wish, you can have breakfast brought directly to the chalet. And that according to your taste: We will fulfill (almost) every wish.
Discover Gut Steinbach
For many of our young guests, the first way after arriving is to the animal inhabitants of Gut Steinbach. The Duroc pigs Emma and Leon live at Gut Steinbach, a yak family with offspring and lots of chickens that take care of the fresh breakfast eggs. Our goats can be hand-fed at the fence and in the distance you can also watch Gut Steinbacher Wild from their own forest.
Expansiveness with an overview
The journey of discovery continues through the extensive estate with its own playground, which is pram-friendly and where the children can play, while mum and dad can treat themselves to a welcome drink on the sun terrace without losing sight of the little ones. The region offers many family-friendly activities such as hikes, ski courses and the children's program “Forest Snails” for children aged 3 to 8 years.
